Car Accidents and Anxious Dogs

Saturday when I was riding in the back seat of my owners car someone turned right in front of us even though we had a green light and they had a red light! My owner tried her best to slow down but we still hit them. I was sleeping in the back car but when the car made the big crunch noise and everyone was coming up to our car and yelling I got really scared. I started shaking and cowering behind my owner’s seat! My owner got me and my sister out of the car really fast and we stood around on the sidewalk while everyone was yelling and loud sirens were going past. I was still scared and barking at people who stared at me! Luckily my owner had Rescue Remedy with us and she gave me and my sister some. We calmed down and layed down next to her while we waited to get instructions on what to do next. Two things we learned on Saturday:

• Always bring you leash in the car even if it is just to go on a short ride that you don’t plan on getting out of the car. We really like these Silverfoot Dog Leads.
• Always bring Rescue Remedy so you can remain calm through stressful situations.
• It is always a good idea to get a Travel Harness Pet Seat Belt so you are also safe in the car

Thanks to the Rescue Remedy my sister and I are back to normal again and don’t have any behavior shifts after that scary day!
