Happy New Year to all my dog and human friends!
On our Facebook Page one of our friends shared with us that lavender oil on a bandanna helped her dog Obi stay calm and relaxed while left home alone and that reminded me about something that my sister Brie told me! When she went to our dog trainers for an overnight stay she had to sleep in a crate, which she isn’t really used to. It made her uncomfortable to have to stay in a room filled with other dogs in a crate but she told me that the trainer sprayed a special spray that had lavender and other essential oils in it and it really helped her and the other dogs relax. She said it was “Rutri-Ret Ret Rease” and when I Googled it I couldn’t find it anywhere… then I realized I had to translate it from dog to human! So I put in “Nutri-Vet Pet-Ease” and there it was at the top of the Google search results!
Our owner is going to get us some so we can try it out but if you are interested here is a link:
Nutri-Vet Pet-Ease Natural Calming Spray for Dogs
If you are going to put this on a bandanna PLEASE BE CAREFUL! You don’t want to get your bandanna caught on thing around the room when your owner is away and can’t help you get unstuck… It can be very dangerous and increase your dog anxiety! My owner suggests just spraying it on the bed in your crate or around the room… she doesn’t even let us wear our collars when we are home alone.
Hope you all had a safe and fun New Year and
wishing you all the success with your Dog Separation Anxiety in 2011!
Let’s get over our fears!
WOOF!
